Vulnerability Registration Service (VRS)
The Vulnerability Registration Service (VRS) is the UK’s first central register for vulnerable people. It is free to use, entirely voluntary, and users can remove themselves from it whenever they decide their circumstances have sufficiently improved.
By giving vulnerable consumers a single place to register their status, the VRS helps customers avoid having to repeat the same difficult conversations every time they engage with organisations like lenders and creditors.
The VRS is a not for profit company limited by guarantee, so all income is reinvested in running the register and supporting vulnerable consumers, and is independent of any other database provider or credit reference agency. It has been developed following constructive dialogue over a long period with a range of stakeholders in the public, private, and charity sectors.
